I have given this a lot of thought and I know that I truly want to be a trader. I have done some homework about the different instruments a trader deals with and I am open to learning and trading any of them, futures, options, stocks, currencies, etc.
I want someone who can teach me to be a trader and ultimately hire me to work for him. I have a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Caltech (the hardest engineering school to get into in the US) and I know that I have a high logical aptitude towards learning anything.
I need someone to teach me and to give me a chance. I can promise, you will never regret it for a second.

Man, you are asking people to take a chance on you. That may not work.
What you can do is to start trading yourself. Build up a track record and post your results in elitetrader.com. If you are as good as you say you are, the money will come knocking at your door.
If you need a mentor, you will find a number of traders in that forum that can help point you in the right direction.

If you’re near an exchange, get yourself of list of their members and give them a call.. Try to get a position working on the floor, even if it’s only running tickets, you get to know the language, the mechancis and more importantly meeting other traders,
Try to get a list of those firms that have floor operations, they will have names attached. send a resume BUT call back, a few days later.
There maybe some water holes near the exchange, stop by after market hours, traders have been known to have a few.
Visit some of your local brokerage firms, try to get the names of some of their trading people. Before the market opens or after it closes call the trading person, dropping the name of the person that gave it to you and tell them what you want. (never call a trader during market hours).
Some of the major banks an/or mutual funds may have openings, in their trading/investment areas. Banks call it their investment area. What your really need is job in the business, as you well know, every job is a paragraph in a resume.

I´ve been investing for more than 20 years and trading for almost 14, and I can tell you that if you want to make BIG and FAST profits, I recommend you trading rather than investing, trading can help you to go from rags to rich.
If you are investing, you must have already achieved some degree of financial success, long term stock investing and FOREX can help you become much richer than you are today.
My experiences as a Nasdaq Market Maker, Head trader of several brokerage firms, and currently as a professional trader and private hedge fund manager, I can suggest you that:
We trade because we want quick, short term profits on a consistent basis. We want to cash flow the market. Milk it like a cow.
Make consistent, small, short term gains rather than trying to hit a home run on every trade. Don’t ever forget that.
Don’t marry a stock, marry the idea of making money trading stocks. That’s the only way to do it.

I don’t hold on to any illusion that the stock market will continue to go up and provide a nice retirement for me.
I could care less which way the market goes. It’s irrelevant to me if the market goes higher, crashes or moves sideways for the next 50 years. I really could care less. Stocks are just four letters with two prices next to them that I use to make a living trading.

My suggestion is that you buy some books and a backtesting software. That software will be your mentor ! In the future industry generally the people who know do not speak and the people who speak do not know …… so your computer is likely to be your best mentor.
